Case Study: Migrating to DOCSIS® 3.1

This solution brief provides a detailed look at how the ARRIS Professional Services team was able to help its Service Provider customer migrate to DOCSIS 3.1 in the upstream using existing spectrum in order to deliver Gigabit services. Using the ARRIS switched digital video approach, the Service Provider is able to more efficiently utilize spectrum to deliver high-bandwidth services without needing to invest in any plant upgrades. ARRIS was able to help achieve this goal by working closely with the Service Provider to understand its budget, schedule, service goals and subscriber base, and then develop and implement a multi-phased migration plan that supports the customer’s unique situation.
