CommScope Manaus Brazil Plant Makes Strides in Sustainable Footprint

50% of Entire Factory Now Powered by Solar Energy + More Sustainability Initiatives

CommScope Manaus Brazil Plant Makes Strides in Sustainable Footprint

As a global technology leader in connectivity, CommScope sees first-hand the world’s increasing energy requirements and the continued challenges of fossil fuel dependency. In pursuit of sustainability, and in alignment with our goals to invest in a better future that reduces the environmental impact of our operations and facilities, we have exciting news to share from CommScope Brazil.

Pure, Clean, Green Energy

We are proud to share that CommScope’s Clean Energy Project has reached a major milestone: 50% of the entire CommScope Manaus factory demand is now powered by renewable solar energy – an immense achievement in reducing our carbon footprint. From solar cell installation to public energy provider approvals from Amazonas Energia, CommScope continues to move forward with our sustainability initiatives.

Sustainable Momentum

In addition to these efforts, the CommScope Manaus facility has worked to reduce the use of single-use plastics to transport raw materials and has increased the amount of sustainable refrigerant gases in our operations. Furthermore, the facility currently recycles 70% of all industrial waste. Demonstrating our ongoing commitment to proper disposal, the Manaus plant was also qualified to use the Green Disposal Seal for reverse logistics.

Bringing Connectivity Back to the Community

Our brand values are deeply rooted in connection – not just within the technology space, but within our communities as well. CommScope Brazil invited our team members and their families to help carry out two greenhouse gas (GHG) compensation initiatives. With their help, seedlings native to the Amazon rainforest were planted in the community and at the factory.

CommScope is humbled by the team and community support that helped make these initiatives a reality and is committed to building a more connected, sustainable world together.
